We are following all UK Government guidelines including social distancing and the use of masks where appropriate / required. Hand sanitiser is available for your use at various locations around the Guest House and we are taking additional cleaning measures for the safety of our guests and customers. Please speak to us if you have any concerns.
There is an off-street car park at 200 metres distance from The Old Court House which is not expensive. We recommend that guests come to the Old Court House first to leave their luggage.
We do not offer breakfast as there are very good facilities within 50 metres of The Old Court House. We recommend The Priory Coffee House which is open every day and we suggest that you book direct, calling Shirley on 01989 562 217. We also recommend The King’s Head by booking direct on 01989 763 174.
We are generally unable to cater for pets as we would like to: if you have a pet please telephone us on 01989 76 22 75 before booking and we will see if there can be a plan.
Babies and the very young
These special guests are as welcome as their parents and guardians: we have a highchair for feeding your young one. We also have a cot: please phone us on 01989 76 22 75 before booking so that we plan to meet your expectations.
The disabled are as welcome as every other guest: please bear in mind that the House is very old and on four floors with steep stairs; the House is on a hillside, so the front door is at street level; the Reception is on the first floor and the double and single rooms are on the second floor. The family room is on the third floor. There are bannisters and carpeted stairs. There are no dedicated car spaces close by.
There is a large and memorable garden and which guests are welcome to enjoy at their own risk (bit rocky and uneven lawn areas) overlooking the town and the Wye Valley across to the Brecon Beacons in Wales. There are areas where you can sit out and enjoy the clement weather.

We adopt a strict non-smoking policy indoors throughout the property. This applies to traditional smoking materials and also e-cigarettes and smokeless tobacco products.
Security and Safety
Commercial smoke / fire alarms are installed through the property and the electrics are 21st century; the front door / main access has a coded access capability.
Our guests have free use of our broadband network via Wifi which serves the whole property.
Work in your room
Your room has a desk / work space and with WIFI you can stay in contact if you want to.

Explore Ross-On-Wye and the local area
The Ross Tourist Office is 30 metres away from the Old Court House. You can ask for brochures and their opening times which do vary and are published at www.visitrossonwye.com.
Walk around the town to enjoy the old period properties.
Rural walks and cycling are popular with visitors: maps are available from the Tourist Office. There are many beautiful walks along the Wye Valley; fishing is a popular sport: you need a license. For details phone Fishers in Ross (over the street from The Old Court House) on 01989 218 080.
Enjoy the famous fine views of England and Wales at Symonds Yat which is about 8 miles from Ross.
